So no photos for this update, but it was a great MLK weekend so I thought I'd archive it.
Yesterday Katie, Katie and I attended mass across the street at St. Ann's. It was a really nice service, and I realized how diverse DC is. All the folks up on the alter (priest, lector, and cantor) were of different ethnicities and none of them caucasian. It was really awesome.
Then a bunch of us went to Eastern Market, which is a great place to hang out on a warm Sunday. I got a Boz Scaggs record for Dad, and some home made tabouleh and pita for myself!
Today I got some resumes and cover letters out, and should be scheduling some interviews for later this week. In the afternoon, some of us from Transforming Communities went to the Capitol neighborhood in an attempt to attend an MLK day event at the Folger Shakespeare Library, but had gotten the time wrong and arrived as it was letting out. Oh well. So instead, we hit the Native American museum and had a really good time.
It was fun getting to know some more people from the seminar and seeing a side of the city the tour busses don't show you. Tomorrow- the real work starts.
Miss you all!!!
